My Postpartum Supplement Routine
When I heard some of my mom friends sharing that they had lost scary amounts of bone density from pregnancy and breastfeeding, I was curious and empowered to learn more so I could avoid this.

Your body is designed to give to baby first, drawing nutrients from your body to provide for baby. Which can sometimes leave you, mama, nutrient-deficient.

As a breastfeeding mama, who’s struggling to keep up with my little milk machine, I’m taking more supplements postpartum then I ever have. Honestly, I’m not a huge supplement fan. I prefer to get my nutrients from real food. But in an effort to stay healthy, strong, and desperately trying to produce more milk, these are the supplements I’m taking:

Garden of Life Raw Prenatals — general support to cover nutritional gaps from folic acid to iron, iodine and more.
Prenatal DHA — fatty acids that are important throughout pregnancy and during the early stages of an infant’s life for brain development.
Garden of Life Calcium — strong, healthy bones for baby and mama. It is recommended that a breastfeeding mother get about 1,000 mg of calcium a day – that is about 4 servings of dairy products.
Garden of Life Vitamin D — supports the growth of teeth and bones. Also comes in a liquid spray.
MotherLove More Milk Plus — herbal lactation support.
NOW Foods Brewer’s Yeast Capsules — lactation support.
Vital Proteins Beef Liver Capsules — for vitamins a, b and folate.
Vital Proteins Beauty Boost — for postpartum hair loss and support of skin, hair and nails.

Additional items I rely on to help with my milk supply and overall health:

Mother’s Milk Tea — lactation support.
Now Foods Brewer’s Yeast Powder — lactation support {I add to my smoothies, oatmeal, oat balls and ect}.
NOW Foods Flaxmeal — been known to help with lactation support {I add to my smoothies, oatmeal, oat balls and ect}.
Old Fashioned Oats — been known to help with lactation support {oatmeal, overnight oats oat balls and more}.
Vital Proteins unflavored collagen peptides — for additional protein and general support of my skin, hair, nails, bones and joints.
Healthy Fats — from avocados and nut/coconut butters to ghee, salmon and more. I’m all about my healthy fats which are essential for brain, eye, and heart growth and development. Also known to help with lactation support.
